I wasn't expecting how catchy and infectious this album turned out to be. Brilliant production throughout, really funky baselines all over the place, there's no song here that doesn't make you want to dance just a little bit. In a recent interview, Doja Cat referred to herself as a "rapper who makes pop music", which is true, and she really leans into it on Vie. There are a lot of really good rap verses here too, but I think she shines best in the pop-rap column.
