This album is tough, the core of these songs are great, great verses, great instrumentals, but a lot of these songs are dragged down by kinda weird, boring choruses that go on for too long, good example of this on 97. Cut these down and put more focus on the verses and this album comes out the other side for the better. You can tell that Doja Cat really wants to focus on rapping more than before, which is fine. Good examples of this are Attention and Balut. I think she fared better before with her more pop rap tracks, but the rapping here has some good moments. Great instrumentals with some fun samples. This album is way too long though, decent amount of filler, and then she releases a deluxe with 10 more songs? Just a bit much. Should be 11/12 songs max.
