After really enjoying her debut, SOUR, I felt it was a tough album to follow, and while GUTS doesn't quite live up to it's predecessor, it's still a great listen. The production is as good as ever, especially on lacy and vampire. I think my biggest gripe overall is that it feels more like a SOUR part 2 than it's own distinct album. Maybe this is intended, what with the album covers being very similar, but I think you could easily shuffle the track listings around between the two and not notice much difference, thematically.
