Depressed

I didn't realise until I started listening that this was Nate Ruess' band, that voice takes me back to 2012, We Are Young playing everywhere non-stop. I was wondering where he went, and here he is I guess. Boycott Heaven is an ok album, feeling like it's straight from the aforementioned fun. era. Nate isn't the best vocalist, and, for me anyway, his voice gets stale quick. I had grown tired of it by track 4 or 5. Lyrically, it's a bit cringe too. With the album named what it is, it has the sorts of lyrics you'd expect, "So boycott Heaven 'cause they never, ever gave a fuck about us", along with various other religiously-coded lines. It should be sung an edgy teen who just realised god doesn't exist, not a 43 year old grown man. I didn't really have a great time with this one overall, not feeling it.
