LEAST FAVOURITE SONG(s)

Hurricane Laughter

While this is a great album, I'm not sure it offers Fontaines D.C. a distinct identity. The lyricism here is great, references to James Joyce, lamenting the danger Ireland is in by our current place in the ever-changing world. It pinpoints the roughness around the edges of Irish society but still holds a place of revere for it. That being said, sonically, this is kind of a standard post-punk sound. You've got your consistent drum patterns and plucky guitars, supporting chanting, almost spoken-word vocals. Hopefully they evolve in later albums into their own niche.
