Listening to this and comparing it to Busyhead is interesting because you can tell he's writing the songs that he wants to write. While this album is still touching on indie-pop, there's a clear departure from the more generic melodies and lyricism found on his debut. It's much stronger thematically, continuing on where he left off regarding topics like mental health, relationships and self-image, albeit with a softer and more honest tone. I enjoyed this album a lot and will definitely be taking a few songs away from it.
