Damn. I knew I was gonna like this album but I didn't think it would go this hard. Incredible. Clairo has perfected her sound. This is the best parts of her music distilled into their purest form, backed by criminally smooth, jazzy instrumentals. The production on Charm is outstanding. Every single song sounds crisp and groovy. Her vocal performances are the best they've ever been, confident yet gentle. While the music is upbeat for the most part, the song-writing sort of dances the line. Songs like Terrapin, Juna and Second Nature are about loving and feeling loved, others like Add Up My Love and Echo explore the aftermath of relationships gone awry. While none of these themes are new ground for Clairo, the lyricism here is more mature and thought out than we've seen before. Amazing album that will be on repeat for sure.
