Ultraviolence shares a lot of themes from previous Lana albums; drug abuse, abusive partners, depression. Initially, this album was not clicking with me, the first few songs felt unfinished and airy. It found its feet finally around West Coast. At this point in her discography, if her voice and cadence had grown old for you, not much is going to change, she still has the same delivery that sometimes can get lost in the instrumentals, but I think that's more a mastering issue.
